How to make Slow Cooked Pear Cider

This slow cooked, warm, Pear Cider is a delicious Winter warmer when the pears are in season.

Slow cooked Pear Cider Recipe

14 washed, cored and cut Pears

2 Cinnamon sticks

2 Star Anise

7 Cloves

1 tablespoon Vanilla Essence

1 organic Pink Grapefruit or Orange sliced

boiling water

1/2 cup raw honey

1/2 cup dark brown sugar

Add all ingredients into slow cooker,

turn slow cooker on Low for 12 hours


Mash the Pear mixture

Taste to see if you require extra sweetening

I added 1/2 cup of Raw Honey

1/2 dark brown sugar

Let cool enough to handle with out burning yourself

Strain through 3 layers of cheese cloth

Serve warm or cold

Store in fridge
